1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, submitting a review, or claiming a business profile on Rightly Rated, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Community Review Guidelines. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the platform.
2. Platform Covenant
Rightly Rated provides an independent venue for consumers to publish authentic reviews of businesses and for businesses to manage their reputation. All users and business managers agree to abide by our Community Review Guidelines.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You’re responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account — let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Prohibited Conduct
Users may not submit false, defamatory, or compensated reviews. Businesses may not incentivize 5-star ratings or threaten reviewers with legal action or refusal of service. You may not attempt to manipulate RightScore™ through fake accounts, review-swapping, or automated submissions. Violations will result in content removal, permanent suspension, and — for coordinated abuse — public transparency notices on the affected business’s profile.
5. Your Review Content
You retain ownership of the reviews, photos, and other content you submit. By posting content, you grant Rightly Rated a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and syndicate it — including via embeddable widgets on third-party sites — for as long as your content remains on the platform, solely to operate and promote the service. You confirm you have the right to grant this license for anything you upload, including photos.
6. Business Accounts
Claiming a business profile requires verifying your association with that business. Claimed businesses may reply publicly to reviews, invite verified customers to leave feedback, and access performance analytics — but may never delete a review; only our moderation team can remove content, and only for a violation of these Terms or the Community Guidelines, always with an audit trail visible to the reviewer.
7. Commercial Independence
Rightly Rated guarantees that subscriptions or commercial contracts with businesses do not influence RightScore™ mathematical calculations, search rankings, or the ability to suppress negative reviews. Every account is scored on identical criteria regardless of plan.
8. Disclaimers
Reviews reflect the subjective opinions of individual users, not Rightly Rated’s own views. We take reasonable steps to detect fraudulent activity but don’t guarantee that every review is free of error, and we’re not responsible for the accuracy of business-provided information. The platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rightly Rated is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including decisions made based on reviews you read here.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, with notice where practical — repeated or severe violations (e.g. coordinated fake reviews) may be actioned without prior notice.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above.
